My story

Riga disarmed me: historically rich, affordable, cosy, and full of trust. Above all, it feels incredibly safe in every sense. Perfect for expat buyers seeking a comfortable home.

After close to 25 years as an expat, and even one failed relocation attempt, it’s the first city that truly won me over.

Here, life runs differently:

  • Policemen would give teenagers autographs at a youth festival.
  • My wallet and smartphone, left in a shop, were handed over to me by an assistant the next morning.
  • The municipality made an extensive effort to search for possible discounts on property taxes.
  • You charge your tank and pay later.
  • A hospital gives you one month of credit for surgery.
  • Little girls walk unaccompanied in the evening

Trust is built in daily life here. You can breathe freely.
